To accompany this gradual deconfinement, the Arboretum offers to come and admire the photographs of Florian Bestel on the discreet fauna of this natural site.
3 YEARS OF OBSERVATION, TO IMMORTALIZE WILDLIFE
This adventure begins at the beginning of 2016. Sheltered from urban areas, many species have found refuge in the variety of biotopes present on this exceptional site of the museum. The project is ambitious: before any shooting, Florian Bestel wants to study and explore the entire 200 hectares.
To do this, the wildlife photographer begins by setting up a system of camera traps: small infrared cameras that are triggered when the animal passes, day and night. These data are essential for it to know the species that frequent the site, their numbers and their habits. After this long observation stage, it's time to take a photo. Hundreds of hours of sharpening over 3 years were necessary to obtain the 32 images on display.
These large format photographs are shown in the very place they were taken.
From 17/04 to 31/12/2021, daily between 10 am and 6 pm except on December 25th.
