3rd Architecture and Landscape Biennial - ‘Changing Climates’ exhibition
The ‘Changing Climates’ exhibition explores how built environments can be transformed into urban ecologies.
Producing an improved microclimate, each of these ecologies has the potential to increase the resilience of the urban condition in the face of the challenges of the climate crisis.
The exhibition illustrates how these new urban ecologies can be designed and built.
A selection of three major projects from the international practice of Bureau Bas Smets demonstrates how landscape architecture can respond to the various challenges of the climate crisis: from improving outdoor comfort and reducing the perceived temperature on the outskirts of Notre-Dame in Paris, to transforming a barren wasteland in Arles into a self-sufficient and resilient ecology, to creating a riverside park that mitigates rising water levels in Antwerp.
An exhibition supported by the École nationale supérieure de paysage and the city of Versailles.
