3rd Georges Bizet Festival – Vocal Recital around Carmen by Anaïs Bertrand and Flore Merlin
From the ramparts of Seville to the salons of Pauline Viardot in Bougival, the 3rd Georges Bizet Festival celebrates the 150th anniversary of the creation of Carmen as part of the European Heritage Days.
Anaïs Bertrand and Flore Merlin revisit Bizet, Viardot, Ravel and Debussy in a spellbinding programme tinged with Spanish colours, in this vocal recital.
Anaïs Bertrand currently plays Carmen in the touring production "Carmen, landscape-opera" staged by Jeanne Desoubeaux. She first drew attention in 2018 by winning first prize in the Froville Baroque Singing Competition, and now performs in many projects with leading ensembles: Le Poème Harmonique, Pygmalion, Les Surprises, Correspondances, La Tempête, IRCAM, and major opera houses.
Flore Merlin is a sought-after pianist who performed at the opening of the Viardot Villa in 2023.
