Exposition - Agitation Immobile

Cultural

Ismaneville has designed seven large textile works for the vast Carré à la Farine room in Versailles. They come to life during visits, returning to immobility shortly after visitors have passed by.

Ismaneville sculpts fabric. She uses the fluidity of this material to create works that are sensitive to air movement, working with natural materials. On these textiles, Ismaneville paints the subtle color nuances of the skies of her adopted Normandy. She cuts out her paintings, assembles them, and creates openings in them to make flexible, colorful sculptures that vibrate with the breath of air. The works pulsate, bringing out other shades as the light caresses them. Ismaneville describes her works as chroma-kinetic.
The artist installs her textile works for a short time in outdoor locations: beaches, riverbanks, clearings, viaduct arches... The sculptures quiver in the wind.
